Year-End Checklist

Here are some items to be completed before the year’s end.  This list will be regularly updated with due dates.

  • Update your Student Supply Lists (things you are asking students to bring to school).  Send by email to Gale and Meg by Friday, May 20.
  • Update your Materials Request Lists (supplies you or your students need and you are requesting we order).  Send by email to Gale & Meg by Friday, May 20.
  • With your grade level partners, decide on the classroom magazines you wish to order for next year (National Geographic; Scholastic News; Weekly Reader, etc.) Please send the list of magazine requests (if it was not on your materials request lists) by Friday, April 15.  (DONE!)
  • Meet with parents to finalize any retention decisions for next year by Friday, May 20.  Please let me know if you need me to be a part of this conversation.
  • Enter this year’s PD on the MOECS website & RESA Website. Print and sign this PD log and put in my mailbox.  Enter the same PD information on the RESA website if you do not need to renew your certificate.  Please enter this info by Friday, May 27.

  • Put student pictures in CA-60 files.  Either use name/year stickers, or write this info below the photo.
  • Begin dividing your class for next year.  We will meet as a grade level on Wednesday, June 15 to discuss how the students will be re-combined to make the new classes for next year.
  • Make a list of all field trips your students attended this year.  Include curricular connection, and cost to students.  Prioritize them in order from most relevant to your curriculum, to least relevant.  We will discuss this as a group before the end of the year.  Please have this list to me by Friday, June 3.
  • Gather examples of the current progress reporting forms you are regularly using with families.  We will discuss our reporting schedule and discuss an electronic form as a group before the end of the year.  Please have these examples to me by Friday, June 3.
  • Send a classroom map to Sherri for summer cleaning.
  • Return all materials to the Literacy Library for inventory by Friday, June 3!
  • Send a list of all books needing to be rebound to the office by Friday, June 10.
  • Complete student report cards.  Make two copies: one to be sent home (envelopes and labels will be provided to you this week), and one to be put in CA-60.  Put CA-60 copy into folder before you leave for the summer.
  • Record attendance in two places on CA-60.  Sign indicating promotion or retention for each student.
